Following our trip to Sifnos this last Summer, I constantly find myself thinking back about some of the dishes we had the pleasure of trying during our three days there. This little Cycladic gem has literally stolen my heart, and a big part of that is due to its incredible food scene. Below are our favourite 5 best restaurants in Sifnos.
Omega 3
Our very first lunch after arriving on the island was at Omega 3, and after the first few bites I knew I wanted to come back. Omega 3 is located on Platis Gialos beach brief walk away from our stay at Verina Terra. The vibe here is relaxed with an incredible beachside view.
We started off strong with a raw starter of sea urchin in pickled tomato water together with the Sifnian aged goat cheese and smoked herring biscuits. Next we ordered the black truffle and fig salad and what I can probably describe as the best octopus dish I had eaten in a long time. Whilst I am usually wary of truffle dishes (I usually find most of them overrated) both dishes were incredible and would reorder them in a heartbeat. For the main dish we shared the catch of the day dish which was cooked to perfection. To end we sampled the bread ice-cream, this was not a standout dessert but lovely to end our lunch nonetheless.
If you’re planning to dine at Omega 3 during your Sifnos visit, I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. It’s a popular spot that often gets booked up, especially in the busier summer months. As for me, I’m already dreaming of my next meal at this culinary gem.
Bostani
Starting our trip on such a high note had raised our expectations significantly. We were both excited and dare I say slightly apprehensive about what we’d experience next. For dinner we had a reservation at Bostani, this seemed like the perfect spot to celebrate our anniversary and I can confirm that it most definitely was. Located at the stunning Verina Astra, Bostani is perched on a cliff overlooking the Aegean sea. The space is designed tastefully to complement the natural surroundings.
Putting the spectacular location aside, every dish was perfectly executed. This was complimented with exceptional service. Our favourite dishes were the cuttlefish dolmas and the Sifnian goat. For dessert we tried the pistachio praline dessert (Ekmek Ktaifi). We still think about this dish and it was by far the best dessert we tried during the whole trip.
Pelicanos
Our lunch at Pelicanos was another delightful discovery during our time in Sifnos. Located right next to the sea at Faros Beach, this restaurant offers stunning views of the beach that perfectly complement the fresh seafood dishes. Our favourites here were the Tarama, the tomato salad with Sifnian Cheese and the mussels with crisps. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the staff were happy to recommend local wines to pair with our seafood dishes.
Loggia
For our second evening we had a reservation at Loggia Wine Bar, a hidden gem in the heart of Apollonia, and it quickly became one of our favorite spots on the island. Tucked into a charming stone building with a view overlooking the town’s whitewashed alleys and the Aegean Sea, the atmosphere at Loggia is cozy and intimate. Here we sampled a number of small plates of local delicacies — think marinated olives, aged cheeses, and fresh, artisanal bread. These were paired perfectly with a bottle of crisp Greek orange wine.
If you’re planning a visit to Loggia, I suggest booking ahead for a chance to sit at the terrace tables otherwise I would suggest arriving early in the evening, other seating spots are offered along the stone walls . With its, relaxed ambiance, cool background tunes and outstanding selection of local wines, I would say Loggia Wine Bar is a must-visit for anyone visiting the island.
Tsikali
Our final spot for lunch was at Tsikali, a traditional taverna located right on the serene Vathi Beach. This was another unforgettable experience that truly captured the flavors of Sifnos. The setting is idyllic — tables set under the shade of tamarisk trees, just steps away from the crystal-clear water. The menu focuses on classic Sifnian dishes, many of which are family recipes passed down through generations. We began with a sampling of their homemade cheeses, which were creamy and rich, each with a unique flavor profile. The highlight of the meal, however, was the Revithada, a slow-cooked chickpea stew that Sifnos is famous for.
The laid-back ambiance and genuine warmth of the staff made it easy to linger for hours, soaking in the peaceful beachside atmosphere. If you’re visiting Vathi Beach, Tsikali is a must — whether for a leisurely lunch or a sunset dinner, it was the perfect option for a traditional local Greek island taverna.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, dining in Sifnos was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Each meal felt like a discovery — from the laid-back charm of Tsikali on Vathi Beach to the refined flavors of Omega 3 at Platis Gialos. Every restaurant had its own unique take on Sifnian cuisine, but they all shared a commitment to using fresh, local ingredients that made every dish even more memorable. I’m already dreaming about our next visit and the incredible meals we’ll get to try again.
